In many government institutions and tender boards, bribery and corruption is an organised crime, President Sirisena said, addressing the opening of the Anti-Corruption Summit in Sri Lanka.
Reiterating the ‘Good Governance’ government’s commitment to fight corruption, he said, “Yahapalanaya is not a joke.
I am serious about good governance and my Government is committed to fight corruption.”
The President added that the budget deficit could be bridged if the corruption in some key institutes is cleaned out. “Culprits are few and we'll defeat them,” he said.
