The NWP PC had allocated Rs. 22 million of its budget 2017 for the NWP PC councilors to go on foreign tours next year and with the consent of all councilors , the allocated amount was slashed by Rs. 21.7 million.
Dharmsiri Dasanayake, NWP PC Chief Minister told Daily News that Rs.5 million was left for them to be used on foreign trips, the amount would be utilised for the development work of both Kurunegala and Puttalam districts next year.
This proposal forwarded to the recent monthly meeting of the NWP PC held in Kurunegala by Chithral Fernando, the chief organiser of the Opposition it was unanimously approved.
