German here to study Buddhism robbed by hospital employees

Two minor employees of the Anuradhapura Hospital who robbed a German national staying at a hotel in Anuradhapura were arrested and remanded later.

The two who had taken the German tourist to several locations in a trishaw with the promise of finding accommodation, had escaped with the tourist’s money and passport. The German national here on a visit visa to study Buddhism had been staying at a hotel in Anuradhapura.

The two employees had befriended the German when he visited the Anuradhapura hospital to seek treatment for an injury.

The duo had built a friendship with the German national and had promised better accommodation. They had robbed him after taking him to a deserted location in the outskirts of the city in a trishaw. The two were arrested after the German national lodged a complaint. They were remanded until January 2 by the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court.
