The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday questioned former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa over the alleged allocation of public funds amounting to Rs. 90 million for the renovation of grave yard of his parents under a project called the Weeraketiya project.
According to FCID sources, he was questioned for over two hours over the allegation of allocating Rs. 90 million for the purpose through the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation which came under the Defence Ministry then. The FCID which concluded the investigation into this incident, sought the Attorney General’s advice for further action.
