'SL lost battle against bribery, corruption and wastage in 2016'

Sri Lanka lost the battle against bribery, corruption and wastage in 2016, Campaign For Free and Fair Elections executive director Keerthi Tennakoon said. He said Bribery Commission investigations were criticised which led to the resignation of Bribery Commission former Director General Dilrushki Dias.

The Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) is also being criticised due to political interference in the investigation process, Tennakoon said.

He said there is no change in the efficiency of the prosecution process at the Attorney General's Department even with the appointment of the new Attorney General.
