A special train service between Negombo and Panadura will be initiated with the convenience of passengers during the festive occasion of Christmas in mind, Sri Lanka Railways said.
Sri Lanka Railways Operations Superintendent Vijaya Samarasinghe said the special service would be implemented on the December 24 and 25.
The special trains will leave Colombo Fort at 8.05 a.m., Negombo at 9.25 a.m., Panadura at 2 p.m. and Negombo at 4.35 p.m., he said.
Meanwhile, additional coaches will be added to the daily trains traveling between Matara and Vavuniya, Maradana-Matara, Matara-Colombo Fort and Kandy-Colombo Fort from December 22, 2016 to January 3, 2017 to meet demand, he said.
