Local Government Minister Faiszer Mustapha has this afternoon, refused to accept the delimitation report presented to him by Chairman of the Delimitation Committee Asoka Pieris.
The Local Government Minister rejected the final report on the basis that two committee members had not signed it.
The Delimitation Committee was set up in December 2015 and is made up of former Sabaragamuwa governor Saliya Mathew, Attorney S. Misfa (UNP), Upul Kumarapperuma (JVP) and Professor P. Balasundaram Pillai (TNA).
The final report, which was delayed previously on account or delimitation issues, typographic errors and other inconsistencies, was due to be handed over to the Minister this afternoon.
