A 35-year-old British national was arrested by the Fort Police for illegal possession of a stock of Wallapatta agarwood this morning.
The suspect was arrested while he was staying at a hotel in Colombo.
The raid was conducted according to a tip-off received by the Police.
During the arrest more than 3kg of Wallapatta have been recovered from the suspect.
The suspect will be produced before the Fort Magistrate today.
Fort Police is con ducting further investigations.
