JVP submits second no-confidence motion against Faiszer Mustapha

 

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today submitted a no-confidence motion, the second in two days, against Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faiszer Mustapha for his inability to hold the Local Government Election while the Parliament has fulfilled all its responsibilities.

A previous no-confidence motion signed by 13 Joint Opposition members was handed over to the Speaker yesterday.

The no-confidence motion submitted by the JVP was signed by Chief Opposition Whip Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Vijith Herath, Sunil Handunnetti, Nalinda Jayathissa and Nihal Galappatti.

The Motion said Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faiszer Mustapha has failed to hold the Local Government Election while the Parliament has fulfilled all its responsibilities including passing the Local Government Election Act.
