A three bench high court and bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman to amend the Judicature Act No 2 of 1978, to establish the previously approved special High Court to accelerate legal action against cases of bribery and corruption allegations and allegations on complex financial crimes was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The bill has been sent for clearance of the Attorney General.
When amended, it will allow the Attorney General and the Director General of Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption to directly forward cases to the proposed high court.
