Dairy farmers fall victim to fraud

The Uduvil Dairy Farmers’ Association said that a private company had recently swindled dairy farmers in the locality by providing them with cows that do not produce sufficient milk.

The Uduvil Dairy Farmers’ Association obtains around 4,300 litres of milk, weekly. However, company officials had said that their cows could help increase it to 11,000 litres per week.

The matter had been brought to the attention of the company, they said, adding that legal action would be taken if farmers were not compensated soon.
