Suspect with intoxicants arrested

A suspect who had 1,500 illicit pills in his possession was arrested by Anguruwatota Police at Batagoda, on November 26.

Police said the haul had a street value of nearly Rs.150,000. The pills were packetted and buried in the suspect's home garden. Investigations revealed that he had engaged in dealing these drugs especially to youth and schoolchildren. He had sold the pills at Rs.100 each.

 

The suspect is a 50-year-old resident at No. 43, Good Hope Estate, Batagoda. The raid was conducted by a team led by Anguruwatota Police OIC Chief inspector Dinesh Attaragama, under the supervision of Kalutara DIG Ranmal Kodituwakku.
