Measures are being taken to offer tablet computers to teachers and students in Advanced Level classes under the first phase, Education Minister Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam said.
He added that with the general practise, Advanced Level students are not given text books from the inception of the free text book distribution process. But one the tablet computers are available, it has been planned to feed the content of advanced level syllabuses to the tablet computers.
The Minister has instructed Education Ministry officers to prepare text books and student guidance. Accordingly text books and student guidance are being prepared aiming to feed tablet computers.
According to the Minister, students can be able to obtain latest knowledge with using the internet facility of the tablet computers.
