The foundation stone for a health centre was recently laid in Palamunai, Ampara. The building is estimated to cost Rs.10 million, and its construction is being funded by the Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Ministry.
The cornerstone ceremony was held under the patronage of Palamunai Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Organiser A.L.M. Aliyar. City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Minister and SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem was the chief guest.
State Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Faizal Cassim, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman A.L. Amanullah, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Member S.M.M. Haniffa, former Eastern Provincial councillors, and SLMC Central Committee officials participated in the ceremony.
