Arjun Aloysius

The Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday issued an order directing the Government Analyst to submit a report to court regarding a DVD obtained as a part of investigations into the Central Bond bond issue over deletion of phone call data by Perpetual Treasuries Private Ltd.

Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne made this order after taking into consideration a request made by Senior State Counsel Lakmini Girihagama.

This pertains to the parallel magisterial inquiry conducted into the bond issue on deletion of phone call data by Perpetual Treasuries Ltd and the alleged fabrication of evidence to the Bond Commission.

Attorney-at-law Sajitha Jayawardene appearing on behalf of Perpetual Treasuries Limited owner Arjun Aloysius told court that two officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had not allowed his client to enter the CID.

The Magistrate instructed counsel that if there is any issue, the complaint should be made to the Bribery Commission.

The Magistrate fixed further inquires for February 25.
