Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa is due to arrive to the Criminal Investigations Department today to make a statement.
Filing a further report before the court, the CID informed court that they have requested MP Namal Rajapaksa, MP Wimal Weerawansa and his wife Shashi Weerawansa to come before CID this week to record statements regarding ongoing investigations pertaining to Indian National Mersily Thomas, who was in remand custody over plotting to assassinate the President, a former Defense Secretary and SSP Prasanna Alwis.
United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa was questioned by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) last week over the alleged plot to assassinate the President.
