The Ministry of Education would take every step to ensure the security of school students before the beginning of the new academic term on May 6, Education Minister Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam said.
He said discussions are being conducted in this regard with the heads of the Tri-Forces and the Police.
Minister Kariyawasam said the principals, teachers and the parents will also be advised and informed regarding the measures that can be taken to ensure the security of the students considering the prevailing situation.
“We are taking all possible measures for the safety of our children,” he further said.
