Five corruption cases filed against former Minister Johnston Fernando and two others were today postponed by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Saliya Channa Abyewardena
The cases are over allegedly causing an unlawful loss of Rs. 40 million to the government by employing 153 employees of the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment for election work during 2010 to 2014.
Accordingly, cases against former Cooperative and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando, former CWE (Lak Sathosa) Chairman Eraj Fernando and the former Minister’s Private Secretary Raj Mohideen Mohammad Sakeer were postponed till April 23 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarathne.
