Sri Lanka Freedom Party will hold only a May Day gathering tomorrow at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute to mark the international workers’ day, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
The May Day gathering, will be held under the theme “Arakshitha Mawbimak – Jawaya Piri Wedabimak” (Safe Motherland – Strong Workplace) with the participation of trade union leaders, working community and SLFP political leadership.
There won’t be any May Day rallies and marches to mark the May Day this year, he said.
Parliamentarian Tilanga Sumathipala said that the main aim of holding the May Day celebrations is to empower working community and to strengthen their mentally aiming to bring the country to mormalcy.
