The government has collected Rs.2.8 million by fining errant traders between January and March.
During that time period, Kurunegala Consumer Affairs Authority officials had conducted 438 raids in Nikaweratiya, Wariyapola, Maho, Kuliyapitiya, Galgamuwa, Rambodagalla, Pilessa, Polgahawela, and Kurunegala. The suspects were charged with selling overpriced and/or expired goods, and failing to provide warranties for other items.
