Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said yesterday (22) that the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) against Minister Rishard Bathiudeen should be considered through a Parliamentary Select Committee(PSC).
“The government will not hesitate to take a decision against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen if the allegations against him are proven by this committee, which consists of representatives of all political parties.”
He added, the government cannot take decisions based on other’s agendas. There is a way in which this should be done. Regarding the No-Confidence Motion,a Parliamentary Select Committee should be appointed to look into the minister’s matter. If there are allegations, let the committee look into those allegations”.
“If we are to vote in favour of the motion, those allegations should be proven by the parties making the accusations.
