A person was killed and two others were injured when a shooting took place around 9:30pm at Beralihela area in Lunugamvehera police division.
The Police said that the shooting was a result of a dispute that escalated between a group of people at a party fueled by alcohol.
A 27-year old youth has been killed in the incident. The deceased was identified as a resident of Kudagammana, Tissamaharama.
The injured individuals who were admitted to the Debarawewa Base hospital were later admitted to the Hambantota General hospital for further treatments
Lunugamvehera Police is conducting further investigations
