The 54th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ABB) is to be held in Colombo, in May 2021.
The Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors is an opportunity for member governments to interact with ADB staff, Non Government Organizations (NGOs) and representatives of observer countries, international organizations and the private sector. The ADB’s annual meetings have become a premier forum for the discussion of economic and social development issues in Asia and the Pacific.
Over 3,000 delegates from 67 member countries will attend this meeting and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera held the preliminary discussion yesterday with the Colombo Hoteliers regarding the arrangement of logistic facilities for the Conference. There will be a need for over 3,000 rooms for the delegates.
The decision to hold the 2021 Annual Meeting of the ADB was taken at its 52nd meeting held in Fiji early this month. The next meeting of the ADB is scheduled to be held in South Korea in 2020.
