A Sri Lankan favourite; here’s how you can try it at home!
Ingredients
- Cuttlefish 500g
- Pepper 1 tsp
- Onion 1 large
- Salt 1 tsp
- Egg white 1
- Cornflour
- Butter 75g
- Dry Chili 4
- Chili Paste 1 tbsp
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
- Sugar ½ tsp
- Sesame oil ¼ tsp
- Spring Onions or Onion Leaves
- Oil for Frying
Method
- Clean and cut cuttlefish
- Add salt and pepper and mix well
- Add egg white to the cuttlefish
- Fold in cornflour and fry in oil until golden brown
- Heat pan and add butter, dry chili cut into pieces, chili paste, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and onion leaves and mix all together
- Add the fried cuttlefish
- Garnish with onion leaves and serve
