The Disaster Management Center said eight districts including Kalutara, Matara, Gampaha, and Colombo have been affected.
About 80,000 persons from 20,815 families have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the country, according to the latest update from the DMC.
In addition the Irrigation Department stated that the water levels of the Nilawala ,Kalu, Gin and Attanagalu Oya are continuing to rise.
Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said, all police stations island-wide have been informed to act immediately on emergency situations.
