The 'Denuwara Menike', an S-14 class locomotive train was newly added to the Sri Lanka Railways commenced operations today from Colombo to Badulla.
According to the daily schedule of the new train, it departed Colombo Fort at 6:45 am and is expected to reach Badulla railway station at 3:27p.m.
The train will depart from Badulla following day at 7:20 a.m and will reach Colombo Fort at 4:30pm.
This will comprises two first class compartments, two second class compartments and three third class compartments.
The Railways Department said that the seats to all these classes could be reserved in advance.
According to the Railways Department, all the compartments of this luxury train would be equipped with television and mobile phone charging facilities would be available in the air-conditioned first class compartment.
