The case filed against former specialist doctor at the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital for allegedly soliciting and accepting bribes was yesterday fixed for further trial on January 8 by the second Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar.
The case was yesterday taken up before the Trial-at-Bar bench comprising High Court Judges R. Gurusinghe, Shashi Mahendran and Amal Ranaraja.
The Bribery Commission had filed indictments against specialist doctor, Chandrasiri Tennakoonwela for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.75,000 on or around July 3, 2016 from a laboratory owner of a private laboratory in Kuliyapitiya area.
President’s Counsel Rienzie Arsekularatne with counsel Thejitha Koralage and Udara Muhamdiramge appeared for the defence.
