A dense fog has gripped Delhi and its neighbouring areas, affecting road, rail and air traffic in the region. In Delhi where the weather office has sounded a "red" alert commuters were seen driving with emergency lights as the visibility on city roads plummeted below 50 metres.
In several areas of the national capital, visibility slipped to below 50 meters.
As many as 30 trains, either originating from or bound for Delhi, are running late. Separately, normal operations were suspended at the airport.
The weather department has already sounded a red alert.
