After 11 long years, the ‘Hum Tum’ couple will be back to the big screen in the sequel of 2005 film ‘Bunty and Babli’. Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji will be seen together in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’.
Yasj Raj Films took to Twitter to announce the same. They wrote, “#SaifAliKhan and #RaniMukerji bring their magic back in #BuntyAurBabli2 @SiddhantChturvD | #Sharvari | #VarunSharma | @BuntyAurBabli2_.”
Saif and Rani were seen together in films like ‘Hum Tum’ (2004), ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’ (2007) and ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ (2008).
‘Bunty Aur Babli’, the original film, starred Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji in lead roles. The new film will see Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari in titular roles. The makers announced the same on December 17.
Though Abhishek starred in the original film but he couldn’t feature in the sequel. Rani explained Abhishek’s absence with a statement.
The new film will be directed and written by Varun Sharma. Talking about the film he said, “’Bunty Aur Babli 2’ is completely set in today’s time. Siddhant caught everyone’s eye with his brilliant acting debut in ‘Gully Boy’ and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly.”
