The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday recorded a lengthy statement from former CID Director Shani Abeysekara with regard to the investigations carried out on the incident into the alleged abduction of Swiss Embassy local staffer Garnia Banister Francis.
According to Police sources, Abeysekera has arrived at the department at 9.30 a.m. He has given a statement for five hours over this incident and left the department at around 3 p.m yesterday.
