‘SLPP will form next government’

WildLife Resources State Minister Wimalaweera Dissanayake said the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will form the next government since a large number of people are rallying round now to support the SLPP at the next parliamentary elections.

He was addressing the gathering after opening a SLPP office in Akkaraipattu on Saturday (February 1).

The State Minister appealed to all to extend their wholehearted support to the SLPP to rebuild the country.

SLPP Akkariapattu Organiser and State Minister’s Co-Coordinating Officer A.M. Nihal presided over the meeting.

State Minister Wimalweera said the Tamils and the Muslims of the district will not forget the yeoman services rendered by the then President Mahinda Rajapaksa and will extend their overwhelming support.

“The public has made a wise decision and made Gotabaya Rajapaksa the President of Sri Lanka and one can judge him by his impartial services to all communities,” the State Minister said.

“People of this area would remember very well the constructive developments programmes implemented by Former Minister ALM Athaullah under then President Mahinda Rajapaksa. So it’s our bounden duty to support Former Minister Athaullah during the next General Election and strengthen his hands. The people should made the decision now and rally round to support the SLPP,” he said.

State Minister Wimalaweera Dissanayake further said the Government has taken all measures to provide jobs not only to youths who are well qualified but also to unqualified youths. “Altogether I lakh youths will benefit by this scheme. Moreover, 54 thousands jobless graduates will be provided with them soon,” he said.

Wimalaweera said the SLPP will register an overwhelming victory at the general elections in March and form the next government. “Neither Rauff Hakeem nor Rishad Bathiudeen will get any portfolios, but former Minister Athaullah will be given a ministry.

Therefore rally round him and resolve your problems,” the Minister said.

A permanent solution will be sought to the human-elephant conflict, the State Minister said.

Akkaraipattu Mayor A. Ahamed Zacky and Former Provincial Council Member W.D.Weerasinghe spoke. SLPP Organisers from various divisions were present.
