The Criminal Investigation Department has deployed two teams in search of former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and eight others over the Treasury bond scam.
Police Media Spokesperson SP Jaliya Senaratne responding to Daily News said that MP Karunanayake and eight other suspects are not present at their residence addresses to make the arrests.
Colombo Fort Magistrate issued arrest warrants on Karunanayake and nine others on last Friday over the Central Bank Treasury bond scam in 2015.
Following the arrest warrants were issued, the CID yesterday (07) searched the residence of former minister Karunanayake at Rajamalwatta in Battaramulla. According to sources, the minister was not available at his residence at the time of the search.
