Approval of the Director-General of Health Services has been granted for resume operations of the Attorney General's Department after the AG sought clearance to resume work.
Accordingly, the Attorney General's Department will resume operations from today.
Coordinating officer to Attorney General, State Counsel Nishara Jayarathna told Daily News that Director-General of Health Services Anil Jasinghe has authorized the Department to recommence its work while being subjected to all operational guidelines issued on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The Attorney General’s Department was closed on the 20th of April after a female private security officer at the Attorney General's Department tested positive for the COVID-19
Thereafter, PCR tests were carried out on six private security officers who supposedly had contact with a female security officer who tested positive for the COVID-19 at the Attorney General’s Department
However, the PCR tests confirmed that all six private security personnel are negative for COVID-19.
Accordingly, The Attorney General wrote to the relevant authorities to seeking clearance to resume operations on last Friday.
