The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has incurred a loss of Rs.2,128 million during the period of last 28 days following the suspension of operations in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
According to the SLTB statistics, it has recorded a loss of Rs.76 million per day due to the suspension of bus services as a result of curfew.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Railways and Department of Motor Traffic have also incurred a loss of Rs.420 million and Rs.840 million respectively due to the suspension of operations during the last 28 days as a result of the curfew imposed by the government as precautionary step to control the spread of COVID-19.
