A group of Lanka nationals stranded due to the COVID-19 arrived from London this afternoon on SriLankan Airlines special charter flight.
According to sources, the flight UL (504) landed at around 12:25pm at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 221 passengers.
On Thursday (27) night at 11. pm another SriLankan Airlines flight arrived from Belarus with 230 odd passengers, the UL (1206) had repatriated group are students who are pursuing their higher education in the country.
The Air Force personnel directed the returnees to the decontamination process upon their arrival. The passengers followed health protocols and later sent to quarantine centres.
So far, more than 30 UL flights had carried out special operations to various destinations to bring back stranded Lankan and foreign passengers.
