The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the concurrence of the Government of Sri Lanka has appointed Hashem Ashjazadeh as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka in Succession of Mohammad Zaeri Amirani. He has presented credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, on 14 May 2020 at 11.00 a.m.
The Credentials were presented via a video conferencing ceremony, in the first time in Sri Lanka.
