Officials from the Department of Wildlife Conservation have found the body of a leopard in Neluwa.
An official from the Department of Wildlife Conservation said the animal, which is not a black leopard, is said to have died after being trapped in a snare on a private land in Neluwa today.
Forest Department Officials in the area had found the animal and had informed the Department of Wildlife Conservation of the situation.
A post mortem examination on the leopard is to be conducted at the location.
The Department of Wildlife Conservation is to file legal action against the owners of the private land, while further investigations are to be launched into the incident based on Court orders.
