Heads of departments, sections and institutions should allow sick employees to stay at home without reporting to work, Health Services Director General Dr.Anil Jasinghe said.
He said they should check whether any employee is suffering from flu like symptoms or any other sickness during working hours in office.Dr.Jasinghe said department heads are responsible in not letting employees gather as groups.
The sections should function separately without letting employees meet or gather in groups.
Employees of different sections should work and leave separately without mixing up with employees from other sections in the institution, Dr. Jasinghe said.
It is heads of departments and institutions who should take this responsibility and continue this system because keeping at least one meter distance from each other is one of the key health guidelines issued by the Government and the Health Ministry to prevent COVID-19, he said.
