There is a high possibility for afternoon thundershowers over the island, particularly in Uva, Eastern and North-Central provinces, stated the Meteorology Department.
Several spells of showers will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere in the evening or night.
Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in Uva, Eastern and North-Central provinces.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity and localized strong winds during thundershowers.
