The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested four notorious criminals at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo, yesterday (August 23).
They have been arrested acting on a tip off received by the CID.
The Police said the four suspects who were connected to organized crimes, large scale drugs and arms smuggling were arrested when they were attempting to flee to Dubai to evade courts cases.
A sum of Rs. 9,797,000 and USD 7,900, which were in their possession, were found during the arrest.(Defense.lk)
The 30, 32, 43 and 45-year-old suspects were residents of Wellampitiya and Modara, the Police confirmed.
The CID is conducting further investigations.
