The Finance Ministry recently announced that it has made an order to waive- off the balance amount after collection Rs.6 per kg from the applied special Commodity Levy of 10% or Rs.150 per kg whichever is higher on Jack and horse mackerel. According to the Extraordinary Gazette issued by the Finance Ministry, The order will be applicable for a period of 3 months commencing from 22 August 2020. The order is made under Section 5 of the Special Commodity Levy Act No.48 of 2007.
