Former Sri Lankan Cricketers Muttiah Muralitharan and Sanath Jayasuriya were reportedly blocked by a group of supporters of Thondaman’s Ceylon workers Congress when they were entering an estate village for Election campaigning.
Muttiah Prabakaran, brother of former Sri Lanka spin bowling legend Muttiah Muralitharan is contesting from Nuwera Eliya district under SLPP.
Both Muralitharan and Jayasuriya have been campaigning for weeks in the district.
Yesterday, when they were visiting an estate village a group of supporters from CWC have blocked them opposing that the village belongs to them.

After a heated argument between 2 groups, both cricketing legends were allowed to enter the village.
Muralidaran said that he had to explain them that citizens of this country has a right to travel to any area they want.
CWC is also contesting under SLPP in N’Eliya district.
