The Nawalapitiya Police arrested an individual who had taken a photograph of his marked ballot paper while casting his vote for the General Elections 2020 held today.
The suspect who is a 32- year- old resident of Ombulpitiya, Nawalapitiya, was arrested after taking a photograph of his marked ballot paper while casting his vote at the Nawalapitiya Central High Scool this morning.
A senior election officer on duty at the polling station had detained the youth and seized his mobile phone, and had later handed him over to the Police officials deployed on mobile patrol in the area.
The Nawalapitiya Police said the suspect will be produced before the Ramboda- Helboda Magistrate’s Court today. (Newswire)
