Nearly 550 people were arrested from multiple locations in the Western Province yesterday for using illegal drugs and consuming illicit liquor.
The Police said that 547 people were arrested in the Western Province during raids carried out between 6pm and 8pm yesterday.
The raids were carried out on public places, especially bus stands, railway stations and public toilets in the Western Province.
Police said 265 suspects among them were arrested for using heroin, while 27 were arrested for using ‘Ice’.
136 suspects were arrested for using cannabis and 107 for consuming illicit liquor. (NewsWire)
