The total number of confirmed COVID-19 patients detected in Kuliyapitiya has increased to 25, following the detection of 14 more patients.
The Kuliyapitiya Medical officer of Health (MOH) said that 14 new detections are individuals who had attended a wedding at a church in Kuliyapitiya recently.
PCR tests were conducted on Friday (16) and the results were released yesterday (19).
After eleven people, including the groom initially tested positive for COVID-19, measures were taken to restrict movement in four villages in Kuliyapitiya.
Restrictions were imposed in the Gaiyala, urupitiya, Annaruwa, and Pallewela areas, the MOH said.
The patients are said to have attended a wedding at a church in Kuliyapitiya on the 2nd of October and a church ceremony at another church thereafter. (NewsWire)
