A couple living in a luxury apartment complex at Ebenezer Place, Dehiwala have been arrested on charges of providing refuge to former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.
Police sources state the suspects, a doctor and his wife, are reportedly close associates of the former Minister.
The Police have commenced a special investigation to obtain details on the other places MP Bathiudeen had sought refuge, prior to arriving in Dehiwala.
MP Bathiudeen was arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) early this morning. (NewsWire)
