“This is stratigic budget that has a number of proposals to develop the local economy in the face of challenges posed by the global pandemic,” Minister Fernando said.
“The “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” National Policy Framework presented by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is also based on the development of local economy by limiting imports and boosting exports,” the Minister said.
“Efforts are on going to promote agro industrialisation and the Buddget has addressed the necessary background for that.
The Budget has also given priority for empowering village based industries by utilising the latest technology to uplift the rural community to gain access to the international market,” the Minister added.
