The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) assured that it will continue to facilitate operations of export industries so it remains uninterrupted during the quarantine curfew in the Western Province. In a notice, the EDB said that exporters are required to take all safety precautions recommended by the health authorities to manage COVID-19 and need to assure implementation of safety measures as per the “Guidelines on COVID-19, preparedness for workplaces” dated 2 nd April, 2020, issued by the Ministry of Health and adhere to the additional guidelines announced by the authorities according to the prevailing situation. Further, all non BOI Exporters are advised to obtain a letter from EDB with instructions on guidelines to be adhered to in carrying out export operations.
