Police teams have been deployed to monitor expressways and borders of all Provinces, following the restriction imposed on people in the Western Province preventing them from leaving the Province during the next 04-days till Sunday (15).
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that individuals entering the Province for essential work have been advised to make arrangements to stay within the Province till midnight on Sunday (15) or have been advised to visit the Province on the following day (16).
The managements of all hotels, guesthouses, and lodges outside the Western Province have been instructed to inform their area Police of people from the Western Province who arrive from between this morning (12) till Sunday (15).
DIG Ajith Rohana said that individuals from the Western Province visiting their relatives or family in other Provinces must inform the area Police prior to their arrival.
Employees of 112 private and public institutions approved to operate during the previously enforced quarantine curfew are not permitted to use their Office Identity Cards as curfew permits to travel between Provinces during the next 4 -days.
The Police Spokesman said only those involved in essential services, such as food and medicine delivery services, Pharmaceutical, Water, Power, Energy, and Petroleum sectors have been permitted to travel between Provinces due to the current coronavirus crisis in the country. (NewsWire)
