The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) today added 273 abandoned buses renovated to its bus fleet.
The renovated buses were unveiled today at Galle Face Green under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The President’s Media Division said the buses will be used to fulfil passenger transport needs in rural areas throughout the island.
273 buses that were completely out of service from 107 depots islandwide were repaired at a cost of Rs. 115 million.
The project is being implemented by the Sri Lanka Transport Board Depot and Lakdiva Engineering Company with the support of the Sri Lanka Public Transport Employees Union.
